Hello gorgeous people!
Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV) states:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness, forbearance, and self-control are all profound characteristics of God that reflect His divine nature and essence! These attributes are not merely traits; they represent the very foundation of who God is and how He interacts with the world and humanity. Forbearance, in particular, is often understood as long-suffering, a term that is interchangeable with patience. It embodies the idea of enduring difficult situations, showing restraint, and maintaining a spirit of forgiveness even when faced with trials and tribulations. Initially, in our creation, we were designed to embody these divine characteristics, reflecting God's image in our lives. However, sin entered the world and created a separation between us and our original divine design, distorting our ability to fully express these traits. Yet, in His infinite mercy and love, Jesus came to bridge that gap. He died on the cross so that we could be forgiven for our sins, thereby offering us a chance to restore our relationship with Him. This act of sacrifice was not just about forgiveness; it was about reclaiming our original identity in Him. Through Jesus, we are given the opportunity to realign our character to match God’s character. This realignment is essential for our spiritual growth and transformation. Jesus’ death and resurrection provided a pathway for us to re-inherit the original inheritance that we lost due to sin and separation from God. Moreover, Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice with full knowledge that there was a possibility that we might not choose Him. This realization highlights the depth of His love for us—He chose to die for us regardless of our potential rejection. What an incredible expression of love our Father has for us! He desires for us to reclaim our lost inheritance, to remember who we truly are as His beloved children. In addition to this, Jesus also sent the Holy Spirit, referred to as the Helper, to assist us in our journey of becoming more like Him. The Holy Spirit empowers us to cultivate these characteristics of love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness, forbearance, and self-control in our daily lives. It is through the Holy Spirit that we are equipped to embody these traits, reflecting God’s nature to those around us. As we ponder these truths, we cannot help but feel a profound sense of gratitude. Thank you, ABBA, for your incredible love and for providing us with the means to reconnect with our divine heritage. We are forever indebted to you for your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name, we humbly pray and give thanks. Amen.
